Dr. Dougherty has been practicing dentistry for over twenty years and enjoys being able to offer full reconstructive care without the need to refer members of his practice to a variety of different dentists for each phase of their treatment. He has been studying and practicing implantology and cosmetic dentistry since 1985.

Dr. Dougherty's educational background commenced with his degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University. He then completed a Masters in molecular genetics at the University of Virginia. Following this, he was accepted to the Advanced Professional Training Program at Maryland Dental School. Subsequently, he served on the full time house staff in the comprehensive care unit of Johns Hopkins Hospital.
